I have someone looking for a used golf cart. Preferably gas but would consider electric. Any out there for sale?

Along the carretera, on the lakeside, before you reach Walmart is a house on the service road and not the main road....always has a golf cart for sale outside and more in his garage. English spoken

I also found this place in Vegas that has a ton of very well priced used golf carts and they ship to Mexico. I did a sample purchase and they say $800.00 USD to ship a cart to Ajijic. I just need to find out if used golf carts are duty free, if they are manufactured in the USA.

Has anyone ever looked into the PULMONIAS that operate as Taxis in Mazatlan? Better suspension, more capacity, many normal vehicle features with VW or Audi engines. The original ones were built in Nebraska and now? Sinaloa allows them to be licensed- have no idea about Jalisco.

It now appears that Jalisco is doing a 180 and will allow the licensing of TUK TUKS. Would they be beneficial at the Lake or simply add to the congestion?

Well anything would be an improvement over the current taxi situation.

Not sure it would improve taxi service. Taxi companies are granted authority to operate in a city; sometimes the number of taxis and drivers is limited by the city itself, or left up to the taxi company franchise.

There appears to be 1 taxi company here. And it may not want to expand; while cabs are busy at certain times, I often see several parked at the 2 stands in Ajijic throughout the day.

They don't answer the phone, don't work past about 7 pm and rarely show up as scheduled if you do manage to find one sitting around the plaza. Worst taxi service I have ever seen. I had big hopes for UBER.

I respectfully disagree. The taxi service we use show up early or on time. If they are going to be late, they tell us so in advance. Going to the airport at 3 in the morning is stressful but they have always showed up on time. The only time they were late they had a flat tire but arranged for another taxi to pick us up. As for taxi stands, we use them many times and the taxi stand in Chapala is always busy, the one in Ajijic usually has several taxis waiting. My Mexican wife usually has a pleasant conversation with the drivers. She left her glasses in one taxi and the Taxi driver when he found them returned the glasses. If we need taxi after 7 we make arrangements in advance and have never had a problem. I know some taxi drivers own their cars and some work for others. The taxi driver we use has 3 cars so he usually has one available. Overall I am very pleased with the taxi service here and have had many bad taxi experiences when abroad.

I line up rides regularly for our guests and was burned many times by the taxi's in Ajijic. I now use private drivers. We obviously live in two different worlds.......

In my on-going search for a gas golf cart I came across one that didn't meet my needs but may be good for someone else. It is being sold by Rigo who owns the Cocktail Bar in Ajijic.

So, we ended up purchasing a "remanufactured" golf cart from Lozano Golf in Guadalajara. We couldn't be more pleased with the service and attention to detail that this company provided. They did everything exactly as they said they would and delivered it to Barra de Navidad at the time/day as originally promised when purchased. The golf cart is like brand new. I couldn't find anything on it that looked used. You can have it painted with any color you like and upholstered in any material/color that you like. It comes with a one year guarantee. This one is a 2019 Club Car. It was $212,000.00 pesos. Not cheap but a lot less than brand new.

I'm assuming that he wants it for golfing because my 2020 Fiat Mobi cost 2,000 pesos less and it's air conditioned. LOL!

I was hoping that was not going to be the case because he is not going to be happy if he is in Barra during the summer months... not only the heat but the rain.

That's about $10,000CAN more than I have ever paid for any car I have ever had. :-)
