Number 4 Stanford....getting a Wuppin....Oregon Ducks...Number 7...43-23....13 minutes left in 4th quarter......for all college football fans.

I know there are few that care, but Oregon beat Stanford 53 to 30....Oregon will move to 3rd or 4th nationally....go Ducks

Three polls (AP, BCS & USA Today) have the Ducks ranked #4. Maybe they are finally getting the respect they deserve?

Oregon played for national title last year....losing to Auburn....This year the SEC, LSU....buried them. Now they need help....loss by Ok., and Ala., while winning their final games agains USC and OSU....both will be televised on ABC.

Of course all this talk of Oregon and where it will end up in the polls is speculative so Dawg will enlighten the rest of you. No matter what happens in all but the championship game, as Alabama takes its revenge on LSU, the final results will be Bama #1, LSU #2 and, at best, Oregon #3.

Dawg has been privileged to attend university in Tuscaloosa and spend time on several assignments in Eugene while working out of Bank of California in San Francisco. While both Tuscaloosa and Eugene are pleasant and hip cities, there is a reason locals call their football team the Ducks and practicing constantly in the mud bodes poorly for the Ducks because eveyone knows what happens to ducks when the tide is rolling in or tigers come to visit from the Louisiana swamps.

No matter what the final polls say, the Oregon Ducks will have the most dynamic and different look of any team playing in a Bowl Game. This is all about: selling the SIZZLE and not the STEAK!

And I will guarantee their show will be a great deal more exciting than the last sleeper between LSU and BAMA.

For sure, it was boring. BTW, the Ducks scored more point vs. LSU and any other team this year.

And the Ducks have LaMichael James who leads the nation in yards per attempt @ 7.4 and Wisconsin has the #1 RB in Montee Ball with 1759 rushing yards.

Should be a fine game! I love when the Ducks go up-tempo and get the signboards out! Those beefy Wisconsin linemen are going to huffing and puffing. Probably faking injury too!

Actually, Dawg only watched three football games this year and even then with only marginal interest- Bama vs. Auburn, Florida and LSU - so I´m admittedly not a college football aficianado. I just watch Alabama play on occasion for old time´s sake. Dawg went to school with Joe Willy Namath in the early 60s and we even had some of the same classes which should give you guys a hint as to how serious a student I was. When Dawg used to go to Bama games at Legion Field in Birmingham in those days, I usually got so looped I didn´t even know there was a 4th Quarter. I remember the sliders and rums and coke after the games better than the games themselves.

By the way, Joe Namath made up that "Willy" moniker when he came down to Tuscaloosa from Western Pennsylvania (after getting kicked out of Maryland for academic reasons) so that he would fit in down there as in "Billy Bob" meets "Joe Willy". Why do I remember crap like this and nothing in the least bit important?

Just remember the good stuff, the rest don't matter.

Great news for Pac 12 recruiting

LSU only played two good teams; Oregon and Alabama. Oregon scored more points against them than any other team. They've been handed their lunch by Alabama. I think it's Alabama#1, OK State #2, Oregon #3, LSU #4.

I thought Stanford buried OK State?

No clear way to know 1,2,3 with the current system. Wish they would fix
that cause we have these discussions every year.

OK State beat Stanford in overtime. They lost to OR too.

Bama not only beat the Tigers, they slaughtered them. Two first downs for LSU and only once beyond their own 50. A sound shellacking. A fine excuse for an ancient Bama grad to drink beer to excess last night.
