Help.... anyone know a taxi driver close to san juan cosala ... me an company have had farrrr to many tequilas and cant drive

My preference always is Francisco's son Luis. He drives very safely and speaks perfect English. You never get bored with him. They have the best vehicles always highly maintained by one of Francisco's other sons who's a mechanic.

The cab was for my guests... who gratiously came to help me with a 5lt bottle of tequila I had bought...

Fransisco came to the door and I paid him a little extra for the inconvience that he had yet to endure.... snork

John is that the Luis on your list that you prefer? I like to keep a list of the good ones. I like Sam but sometimes his car barely runs.

They have 7 or 8 vehicles in perfect condition and are always on time and drive safely. We won't use anyone else. I need a little larger vehicle because of my handicap, so I get the Chevy Minivan. They have Chevy Suburbans too.

Not the same Francisco. Francisco may be a good mechanic, but he's overpriced, especially on oil changes. He buys that cheapo CHEVRON oil in Costco. I used to do business with him a few years ago. Now I go to Hernandez next to Super Lake. Roberto is a nice guy and doesn't screw the gringos. Roberto uses any grade you need of PENNZOIL. I've used Pennzoil for over 10 years in my Ford Explorer that has 103 K miles on it.

I buy my own oil and he changes it - I watch and they change the filter and it costs me around 110 pesos. I don't trust anyone to put in the synthetic oil I want - I do trust they will charge me for it but I buy it and watch.

I did have a problem with Roberto's brother on an alternator on an old car - charged a lot to fix it - around 1,800 pesos - same problem in two days, said he couldn't fix it - that no one lakeside could and I would have to take it to Guadalajara myself - no refund or offer to help me. Francisco fixed it for real for 600 pesos - it was a totally different problem - a bearing. So I guess it depends on what the problem is but I've found Francisco will really fix a problem while other garages charge me and the problem doesn't get fixed. Maybe it's the woman factor - they figure I don't know any better.

I definitely agree on Luis, would not use anyone else unless it was his father or brothers.

As to mechanics, are you referring to Francisco the mechanic in Riberas?

Yes, I've used Francisco in Riberas as a mechanis - across from Maskaras Clinic. My former car had some unusual problems and I went to several shops who all charged more than Francisco and didn't fix the problem - Francisco did fix it and rapaired a side mirror that was hanging on by it's wires. I have not tried Pablo yet and he is out my way. Have a two year old car though and so far no problems. Just routing maintenance.

But I never knew they were drivers also.

simpsca - Thought you live in SJC. If you live in SJC, Pablo is much closer than Francisco and much cheaper. Pablo is a US trained mechanic and has a diagnostic computerized machine. He has been recommended to me by several friends.

Yes, I plan to give him a try - next oil change. I was using Francisco because I didn't know of anyone else who was really honest and knows what they are doing. I've had bad experiences with many mechanics except Francisco and Gonzalez Bros. in San Antonio.
