If there was something really serious going on here, you would have seen many Federales in many trucks along with many trucks of army guys. It's not regular Police aqnd transitos that do a house cleaning. You saw that about 4 or 5 months ago.

I get your point and don't disagree but I wanted to make a small correction. One of the people killed a couple of weeks ago was a witness so we do have some Colateral damage
going on. I don't think he was in the business. It would have been easy for it to be a gringo. Not trying to be argumentative just letting folks know.

Do we really think that government officials would tip off a confrontation? After the last capture, there were burning buses etc & there were noticias on the news to stay put so as not to be harmed because of possible retaliation, not much happened after that while Chapala had a check point etc. There's nothing on twitter at this point. Has anyone thought that wisecrack, on TOB, may be just that? Time will tell. Typically confrontations start after dark around 10 p.m. etc...now bad guys have been known to put up signs & get the word out to stay inside...who knows.

TOB "Chapala is crawling with "unmarked" white Ford trucks containing Federal police..." sounds like them, they do drive them. You see a bunch of trucks in 1 area, well Police or Narco's, I don't know I guess I can walk down to the highway and sit on the wall and count them and the traffic, but where I live not a lot of highway noise, at 6 PM that isn't normal.

It's true that if you ask police, they typically they won't tell you what's going on.

I suppose everyone can deal with it in their own way. As I said earlier they were shooting a major sized commercial in Chapala today. Many film crew and police looked to be involved. They were on the street beside Intercasa's and on the main drag down by the malecon.

prorader - I never saw Federales driving white pick up trucks. That could be they're there for filming purposes. Federales drive black trucks with gold lettering on the side as do State policece (Estatal) drive black trucks with gold lettering. Their uniforms are different too.

You are wrong the Fed's do drive white pickup's, that is the ones that work for the Attorney General of Mexico, not the normal Federal police, who drive in blue and dress in blue, there are tactical units that dress in black but not like it was 5 years ago. wrong, wrong and more wrong, 6 years and my Attorney works for the Attorney General of Mexico. Come on they drive what they want, you are mistaken the black trucks with the gold letters are Jalisco State Police only, my guy drives a 2011 MB and wears a 2 piece suit, go figure, there country not mine.

We are OK, just trying to educate you as to what is going on, and from my experenice as what you need to do on a daily basis to stay safe.
