Friends of Ixtlahuacan restaurant owner Francisco Ricardo Vargas Garcia, who was shot and killed on April 30, want the community to know that the family has re-opened their popular Cinco Potrillos restaurant. Contrary to many rumors, the shooting took place at the Vargas ranch west of Guadalajara — not at the Ixtlahuacan restaurant.

The community of Ixtlahuacan is anxious that those who have enjoyed the good food and service of Cinco Potrillos and the charm of the town will continue to do so. The restaurant continues to be the primary support of the Vargas family and is a clean and safe environment for the establishment’s many loyal customers.

Well let's go and enjoy a meal there ASAP. Their Chimichangas are stellar.

I got there about 11 and there was parking in the inside lot. I like the new location.

David, when did they move? Do they have a parking lot? I always park on the street near the entrance. I was just there 3-4 weeks ago. ....also it appears they have changed hours, closing @ 9......?

I was there today and the sign on the door says they close at 7 PM and they are closed Tuesdays. My loss today. Le sigh.

8 of us went to Cinco Potrillos for dinner Friday @ 5, ate, left around 6:45....not one customer, other than our group. Really a sad deal.
