The chamorro was on special the day that Brigitte and I lunched there and, as she said, it was excellent. Those are really nice people so you might need to stop by their fun little restaurant and ask when they plan to have it on special again. We´ve never tried it at El Serape but hear it´s good and is a weekly special there.

The day I had the chamorro, Brigitte had the chile en nogada and it was also very good. We highly recvommend this small, neighborhood gem.

We returned to this lovely place today and chamorro was the special. The preparation was very different than what you'd get at Tony's or El Zarape: it was served in a banana leaf with what was described as an achiote seasoning. The meat was tender but essentially unseasoned. Perhaps they serve other preparations of pork shank on other days, but based on this I'd be inclined to stick with more flavorful stews and sauces there and get my chamorro fix elsewhere.

We had their lunch for the first time yesterday. Cute place, friendly service and good food at a very reasonable price. Frutas and little desserts included.
I like the fact they give you a choice of sauces at the table: fire breathing; milder and a tasty bean dip. A few Mexican dining establishments have but one choice: fire breathing, and since we're all different, that's not too smart.
Homemade tortillas and chips. Yum.

Recommend for lunch (haven't tried dinner yet) ...absolutely.

They are not open for dinner only breakfast and lunch , they close at 6pm.

Really? How will they make any money without wine and liquor sales? Do we all have to start our days with Bellini's now?

It is just a little place, they sell beer but no liquor although the last time I was there I smelled Tequila, I ask them if they sold Tequila they told me know and I asked them why I smelled Tequila, they admitted the old man at the other end had Tequila in his cup. He may have sneaked it in or who knows...
