A true waste of time and resources.

The "If you drink don´t drive" signs proliferate in Veracruz State where drunk drivers are the norm. A waste of paint and metal. We drive through that helhole at least four times a year on our way to Chiapas and will tell you this emphatically; the more "Do not drink and drive" signs you see on the carreteras in any given province, the more likely some borracho is going to skewer your ass driving drunk. What a bad and despicable joke by the Chapala authorities.

Looks to me like you have leaped to an assumption. Problem with assumptions is that you never know if they are true or not. And actually, I was told they were donated. So - bad assumption on your part

Well it was a total waste of some ones money. I believe I would get one to use as a ruse. If you had one of these stickers others would automatically decide you wouldn’t drink & drive, No?

Hey...you don't expect them to really do anything worthwhile, do you?...like say, actually ARREST drunk drivers, & throw them in jail until St. Swivin's day, 2025?...Nah...eaiser to hand out stickers, put up a bunch of umarked topes, maybe have a parade against drunk driving...you know, real flashy trashy stuff that doesn't mean a damm thing but looks impressive... As usual, your thin-skinned paranoia has you assuming facts not in evidence. I happen to like banana republics. But to live in one you have to realize that you are no longer in a NOB nanny-state, that many laws will be written but not enforced with any semblance of equality, graft and corruption are the norm and property titles are tenuous at best..Can you say Tenacatita? So, what's that got to do with most of the property owners at lakeside? There are property owner disputes all around the world...even in your "nanny state", as you call it.
