Swarm or Board Meeting for Holidays????
Hello Cbob and Rbob. How would you feel about having a holiday swarm (lunch) or board meeting (evening) before Christmas for the holidays? Perhaps an "End of the World get together" ? LOL Perhaps someplace on John's four star list since it is the holidays. Toss it around......

I'll be away fishing from tomorrow until Friday afternoon so unless we do it on Saturday or Sunday you will need to carry on without us on this one.

OK, how about Monday, Dec. 24/12 at 1:00pm at the Peacock Garden in Ajijic? Does that work for everyone? If so, start sounding off so I can make reservations.

Re: Swarm or Board Meeting for Holidays????
I believe it is on Colon about 1/2 way down to the lake from the plaza. There is plenty of parking down by the pier. It may be called The Secret Garden now? Can someone confirm this info?
Re: Swarm or Board Meeting for Holidays????
OK, I looked it up. It is just called "The Garden" now. It is located at #8 Colon. Here is a link to their website. There is a map on there.

Put us down for two. Won't eat much, since we're doing a Christmas Eve dinner with friends just a few hours later, but it will be nice to see everybody. Thanks!

uno
Better half in Columbia.

FYI the Garden or the Peacock garden is one of the most beautiful places to eat
in Ajijic. Beautiful grounds with big furry chickens and peacocks running around.
The menu is nice and we enjoy eating there quite often as it is just down the
street from our house.

Zed, we found you have to be careful of the peacocks, as they're just the right height to steal food off your plate! :) Beautiful place, though. Breakfast on Sunday is wonderful, with the church bells going nearby.

LOL I was trying to save that for a surprise LOL for someone.
So people don't get the wrong idea the peacocks will not endanger
you only your food if you leave your plate. Fun to watch the staff
chase the birds away. Good Bar and yes the entrance looks like
you are walking through a open garage as you are.

Looks like 17 so far. I will go by there tomorrow and make the reservation. I am sure they can accommodate a few last minute stragglers too.....
See you all there!!!

Re: Swarm or Board Meeting for Holidays????
Unfortunately, I will be on my flight down or I would go too. You have to watch out for the male peacock. I thought he was getting close because he was friendly, but he went for the bean sprouts on my salad and got the whole bunch. Someone actually had to come out from the kitchen and feed him to get him to leave me alone. A poster on Trip Advisor said he was a show off and mated twice with the female while they waited for their food, so you might see quite a show.
Pedro Loco was at the bar dressed like Pancho Villa with a matching hat and cowboy boots. I think he goes there almost daily according to the waitress.
If anyone else wants to get together for lunch sometime next week, let me know or send a PM. I'm flying down from Nashville and he's coming in from Abilene. We love meeting expats that live there.

Re: Swarm or Board Meeting for Holidays????
Just a reminder that this is today.
Time: 1:00pm
Place: The Garden (AKA The Peacock Garden)
Address: Colon #8, Ajijic
There should be plenty of parking down at the pier if nothing is available on the street. Hope to see everyone there!!!!
