I'm thinking of a new Category

I'm thinking of adding a DYI (Do It Yourself) category for home repairs, construction and mechanical questions. I know we have some people on this board who are quite knowledgable in these areas. What do you think?

Great idea! There are a few things down here you have to fix. Usually, they're pretty simple fixes, but some people, seeing the way it was originally done, don't have a clue where to start.

I love this webboard, it is funny as hell. But, in all seriousness, for it to achieve your goals and the many hours of hardwork that you have put into it, I suggest a category for serious responses only to questions that folks ask. We are a bunch of folks with varied senses of humor and I know that some of our responses to serious questions offend them and they will leave and not come back. Not your goal. I have no idea how to formulate this, just sharing my honest thoughts, guapo. Zoey

ya want serious-go to chapala.yawn. limme edify ya zoey. this 1 week old reincarnate is from the original which was started nov. 2009 and when it was killed by the rabid owner last week had over 300 members and counting.
thanks ta bob it been resusitated[sic] but that ain't a lot o' woik. what is a lot o' woik is generating a new data base by people posting info and axing good questions which can be done in a humourous manner and seriomento as well.
the point is-this format has already been proven ta woik.
as a member of the former management i will not be posting as much info as i did before and chinagringo who made a huge contribution complete with many pics won't be doing anything as he has had enough and is no longer a member.
if in fact you have lived here fer any length of time and travelled other areas of mexico -i toss the torche to ya fer posting any kinda info and any way ya wanna do it. hopefully others will too.
so far ya done posted a whole buncha nada about nada mostly in yer 12 posts per day.
the majority o' members on here were members on the original.
i asked another member to post about volleyball and pics and schedules but she ain't done nada. that kinda thing ain't gonna make this board successful.

Lobo, sounds like you live here and have bought a house. You are so right, once the original maestro is gone, it is tough for anybody else to figure out electrical, plumbing, etc. as everything is so gerryrigged and there is no licensing, just what they learned from someone else.

I actually know of a few people who sold their houses and rented as they were tired of stayin ghome and waiting for repair people that never showed up. You have good posts. Keep it up. Zoey

let me say this lori-er zoey. don't paint all maestros with the same brush. we have done many things in our casa. i personally know where everything is and what has been done. i've had a coupla assholes here but the rest have been just fine.

I totally agree with you. I think we all need to put forth the effort to solve this problem and try to rien in some of the "comical" responses to serious questions. I for one will be the first to stop trying to be funny for every response. Hopefully the others will follow our queue.
