Explosions at Boston Marathon

Just saw it on the news Axixic. Says 3 confirmed dead, 10 missing limbs from explosion with over 30 hospitalized. Bombs were 20 seconds+/- appart, near the finish line.

REALLY sucks when innocent people are targeted. (or anyone)?

Noooooo...that is awful! I have been to the Boston marathon, it's an incredibly joyous event, so anticipated and always well attended . This kind of sickness is un fathomable .

CNN is reporting that at least two more devices have been located.

Some news sources are saying that the JFK incident wasn't connected but I just watched the police press conference and they said it was.

CNN is now reporting 49 injured.

Hoping the unexploded devices yield valuable evidence and info that can be used to locate those responsible. My thoughts are with anybody reading this who might have been affected.

As much as I might be inclined to put this on devout Muslims, in this instance I am more inclined to look for "home-grown" terrorists.

My reasoning is that the I.E.D. apparently wasn't as sophisticated as "professional" terrorists would/could make.

I may be wrong but one thing for sure: Understandably, the government of the U.S. can't protect everyone all the time.

A lot of people have said they woul be willing to give up "some" freedoms for the purpose of increased protection.

Of course there is the opposite that says:

“They that can would up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety will ultimately have neither.”

My heart just dropped into my shoes when I saw this on the TV. How dispicable.
I deplore the gun violence but bombings are done by gutless, spineless wonders without shame who slink away to safety.
Sincere condolences to those affected by this atrocity.

That's what they are. They are following their religion and its teachings and the teachings of its prophet.

Aren't there devout Catholics who take the teachings literally? And how about Orthodox Jews?

Of course the Muslim teachings are very strict, but that's the religion.

One segment interviewed several Taliban child/teen suicide bombers from Afghanistan. They talked about how they are not taught from the Qur'an, and how they are inundated by elders telling them that chest bombs will only blow outwards (and therefore not kill them).

This I had not heard of before.

i watched a documentary on genocide the other night.... relevance ? how do people
who perpetrate these horrors justify their actions in their own heads ? it's about
belief. my heart goes out to these innocent victims, who were merely enjoying a
beautiful athletic event. sick...just sick.

There is an express lane straight to hell or the never after reserved for these types of degenerates.

Kind of ironic,seeing as how he fled from the violence and insecurity that his adminitration's policies brought about and sought safety NoB.
