ARMANDO'S: Faye & Amy out: Armando coming back in.

According to TOB at around 3 p.m., Armando is now in possession of Armando's. Faye made the announcement, saying that the powers that be were going to close them down unless they paid Armando's back fees to 2008. They weren't willing to do that, so they handed it back. How he managed to evade the fees is not known. I'm sure there's more to the story, but that's all I know. I called the number: no answer.

He might be in for a surprise. Those new customers were due to the new management; the food and service, not about the way things used to be.

Faye and Amy say they are planning to open in a new location, yet to be determined. I wish them lots of luck.

Who do what? Apparently, Armando saw all the traffic, wanted it back and sicced the authorities on them, even though it was Armando with back fees due. I think they gave up and handed it back rather than deal with a big financial issue or a court case. Can't say I blame them.

Let us know where they go...we're following Faye and Amy...not Armando.

They're BACK. Can't keep a good cook down.
They're partnering with Patti of Patti's place in the old Pedro's restaurant location on west Ocampo. So it's "Amy's Grill" in Patti's place.

It's starting modestly; no frills such as were standard at Armando's, but plastic tables and chairs not withstanding.........the quality is there.

Long menu of burgers. Chili too. Charcoal broiled; good quality beef. You can have chicken instead.

We tried it for lunch today. Top marks for burgers.
Plenty of parking.
