The smoking gun against Soriana

For those of you who figure you know, I'll confirm I an a cheap illegitimate child and this is all about that.

For two-weeks I have been going into Soriana and being (see above), watched the price of my favorite drink be $10.00. When it rang up though, it was $10.20 (see my first line). I always pointed the error out and the added amount was taken off (See first line above).

I also said it should be changed. Today I saw a change. The price on the shelf was still $10.00 but it scanned at $10.90. See below.

Both are current as to 5/20/2013.

Yes, I'm sure it was a mistake and the shelf sticker was changed just as I left the store.

That's been a problem for years, and just as bad at Walmart. Merchandizing or lack there of is a PITA here. IMHO

When in doubt, use the in store scanners to determine price in either Walmart or Sorianas. Try Surtidor for a local comparrison.

I have personally found instances in both Soriana and Walmart where the scanners are not working or broken and in one instance when the inside scanner did not show the same as the checkout scanner.

This is regular behavior for both Waltmart and Soriana, since I had a similar situation with a red wine bottle.

I always check the price on the scanner and even take a picture with my cell phone to proof I saw the price on the shelf, but isn't it curious that the price difference is almost always in their favor?

Every time I point the error out, they correct it, but maybe just for me , I wonder if they really change the sticker on the shelf right away or just leave intact it to gain more money.

I'd guess the latter.

I will admit that on very, very, very rare occasion, the price difference is in my favor and what I do is leave the "profit" I made for the baggers.

Just figure how centvos can add up if only say 1 in 100 items are a few over the shelf price.

Fact is, most people don't watch the price when it is scanned and some (most?) don't even check their receipt.

On a Hocks brownie days, I enjoy checkin prices, then refusing to git out a line and go to customer service, for a refund. LMAO, enjoy the moment!

Do a class action, be a champion for the people, it might costs some $$$ in attorney fees but you will make them give those pennies back that they stole!

Musta been a bad one.....stick with the brownies, they are in the Frozen food section At Super Lake......replaced Big Daddies with Hocks Super Fudge Brownies. And the price never varies.

You really paid the cashier 110 pesos and 90 centavos for your purchases, and got back 50 pesos and 60 centavos in change? You also show a shelf sticker price tag for a Limon drink, and your receipt says a Mango drink.

That's what your receipt says.

I thought limon drinks were cheaper than mango.

I think the Talosian's smoking gun has backfired. Not too surprising when you consider how they make things on Talos IV. Remember how they screwed up putting Vina back together after the Columbia crashed?
