Bus to Patzcuaro?

Is there reasonably direct bus service from Ajijic to Patzcuaro or do you need to start out in Guad?
How about any first-class buses?

The best chance of a 1st class bus would be from Guad' to Morelia, then a local bus to Patzcuaro.

Primera plus has a bus a day at 13.30 arriving around 19h 3 stops . Long distance buses leave from Tonala (some also make a stop in Zapopan)
You may want to take an ETN type bus from Tonala to Morelia and take a bus Morelia Patzcuaro. You can buy ETN at Walmart, maybe Primera plus as well so ask there or go to the station around 9 oclok and see what buses go to Patzcuaro, I remember seeing several but I do not remember the lines.
ETN or Primera Plus to Morelia would be my first choice.

Not being bus riders, I haven't paid attention to the exact details but I believe that I have read that there is one daily direct bus each way between Patzcuaro and Guadalajara. Otherwise, you would have to connect through Morelia.

Your best bet might be sending a PM to Don Cuevas (member of this forum) as they have frequently traveled between Patzcuaro and Guadalajara by bus.

No more bus tickets at Walmart. The TAP puesto is gone and the area is now the employee lounge (bagboys and girls).

Just go Guadalajara to Morelia, then Morelia to Patzcuaro. Busses run constantly between Morela and Patzcuaro. Unless you have a condition that makes changing busses difficult, it's not worth the effort to find the one and only (maybe) bus that doesn't stop in Morelia.

Funny I thought I saw the ticket office there last week. But ni modo you can check the schedule on line , can also buy the tickets on line and you get a discount for doing that with some lines but it is not worth worrying about it just show up at the station and take the bus line you like when you like. You can check the ETN schedule on the internet when the site is working. www.etn.com.mx

Primera Plus used to have one bus a day via Zamora and Quiroga to Patzcuaro. 4 or 5 a day to Morelia (some express and some not)

I think the TAP place disappeared from Walmart very recently. The sign remains.

I retract my previous statement. If Primera Plus still has that bus sparks refers to, I'd try to take that for sure. The ride between Zamora and Patzcuaro is beautiful, especially this time of year.
