Distribution of Basic School Supplies Today on the Ajijic Plaza :)

I'd like to thank those of you who generously gave money for the school supply drive. Between what we were able to raise here and in the states (and via PayPal) and the in-kind donations received from the Mexican community, we were able to distribute basic school supplies to 250 primary school children here in Ajijic today.

Since school doesn't begin until August 19th, we will still be happy to accept both cash and in-kind donations (pencils, pens, colored pencils, sharpeners, erasers, geometry sets, and spiral notebooks...and anything else you might have around the house that the kids can use...glue, paper, scissors, whatever). Once again, feel free to drop anything you have off at the Guadalajara Reporter office, with Libby, in Plaza Bugambilias.

For anyone who wants it, we have the PayPal receipts (I purchased some things in the states, and converted the rest to cash), receipts for the purchase of wholesale items in Guadalajara etc. This was a true labor of love by Tonio Gonzalez and his wife Andrea Garcia, and their entire family.
