reliable mail delivery

Its been awhile since I visited Lakeside.

Has mail delivery from Lakeside to US and Canada improved to where it is reliable?

We will be coming down for a couple of months in March/April next preparatory to moving down permante when our property sells in Canada  and will be winter visitors until then.Slow property sales where we live!

I have a small on line business with which I sell rare jewelry items worldwide which means I need to send small parcels out of Mexico and receive inventory as well.

Comments appreciated.

Use HandyMail for incoming, FedEx or UPS for outgoing parcels.

I too, use Handy Mail. I have had great service and the prices are right.

Superb. Minimum two deliveries per week, couriered here by FedEx.

Also it seems Handymail does not accept packages--is that true.

Correct. They will courier your outgoing NOB mail to Laredo for 10 pesos.

North of the Border - NOB. I also thought HandiMail didn't accept or send packages, but I haven't tried using them. Sol y Luna will courier packages to the border and mail them USPS - much cheaper than FedEx. I have never had a problem but I haven't sent anything that needed insurance.

Thanks for the input folks--three sources to check out but it looks like sending and receiving small packages can be done.

Now anyone know of a 2br house/cottage with hi speed internet with a nice sit out garden that can be rented for a reasonable rate for next March/April?

Want the garden as I am a bird fancier.

Handy Mail cannot accept packages if they are sent through the Laredo address, however if you have them shipped directly to Handy Mails San Antonio address, they will accept them, but there are certain specifications as to how much duty they will pay up front. There is a limit they will front, if it goes over that and they cannot get in touch with you right then, the items will be refused.

Packages sent to Handy Mail where duty is involved is a roll of the dice. I had a used golf club sent from Callaway pre-owned.....paid $150.00 for the club and they wanted 1750 pesos duty.  

Also, Handy mail does not have a monthly weight limit on mail, and provide large boxes. Ishop mail and Mail boxes etc. do. Ihsop is $384.00 annually, Handy Mail is $264.00 Annually.
