Where is My Computer on a MAC?

Seems like one of the most obvious and necessary icons to have on any computer .... but on a MAC grrrrrr !!

Neighbor just arrived from up north and I lend/rent my USB modem to her for the duration of 3-5 months.

Because she installed it last year the MAC just shrugged when she inserted it this time. If inserting the modem doesn't awaken a computer the other option is to run the Setup program on the modem/drive .... but you have to be able to see "MY COMPUTER" to find it, to look at a CD, to look at fotos or videos. How the hell do people live with such a creature.

According to Internet I can click on DOCK and use a search or find function but the MAC is a couple blocks away .......

It's been a long, long time since I've been on a Mac but I believe what you want to do is go down to the tool bar and click on "Finder". Everything should be laid out for you there.

Dock (called Toolbar on Mickeysoft) use finder or look for an icon that looks like 3 gears...This will bring up the system preferences program where you can then look at networking to trouble-shoot.

Once you go Mac - you won't ever go Back :)
