Re: Directo Bus
Hi, we catch the bus at Black's Coffee, across from Walmart. It comes about every half hour. We catch it at 10:30 a.m. and it costs $50 pesos. Stand on the sidewalk and just raise your arm when the bus comes by - they are usually 400 series buses that travel up that road.
You can also catch the bus to Guadalajara from the Chapala bus terminal. Same price. They run about every half hour throughout the day. We used to go to Chapala, but the bus up the Libramiento is faster and easier for us from Chula Vista.
At the bus station, make sure when you buy your return ticket you ask for the bus to Jocotepec, via the Libramiento. Also, you can catch a taxi for about $4 - $5 outside the bus terminal to anywhere you need to go. This is how we get to Tlaquepaque or the Zona Historico. Feel free to PM me if you want any additional information.

Re: Directo Bus
Taxies can run 120 pesos depending where you are going in Guad. Set the price before.

Oh really? An airport taxi just into centro Tlaquepaque cost $260MXN a year ago. Guadalajara is a huge city and I doubt you could cross the city for $120MXN.

Re: Directo Bus
Airports in Mexico are Federal. The taxis are licensed only Federal, they are not allowed to pickup Municipal fares, so this means a return trip. Hence almost double the price.

Re: Directo Bus
Okay, I was providing information from our trip to Guadalajara last week, so I think it is up to date. We always take the taxi that is right outside the terminal and ask the price before getting in the taxi.
It is always about $4 - $5, even to Tlaquepaque. It is $100 pesos from Tonala to the old bus station, or Tlaquepaque to Tonala. These are the prices we have paid in the last 8 weeks.
If you stay over night, we can recommend the Hotel Frances in the historic district - it is over 40 years old, with a good restaurant and bar in the courtyard and live mariachi music in the evening.

Thanx for all the info. Think I got the bus thing figured out. Thanx for all the other info, also. Maybe I can use it on another trip.
