Laboratorio de Patologia Clinica "Chapala"
March 19, 2014, I gave a sample of blood for PSA results. This Lab promised to email me results, but did not.
I returned on March 28, and recived a 3.0 level. This is very high & a sudden change for a person that has had
their Prostate removed, and indicates Cancer has returned. A normal score will be 0.01 ng/ml which has been
my score for several years.
I went to Nucleo de Diagnostico in Guadalajara (333 606 7118) for confirmation and received results the same day.
A score of 0.01 which has been my results for years.
The lab in Guadalajara(one of seven large modern facilities) was very professional, compared to the "back room"
facility in Guad. My past Lab experiences have been with Care Labs. in Riberas del Pilar & Guadalajara.
I write this to advise and to pass on the results of me not being selective, to be careful & verify. I plan on follow up in three months.

We've been using the lab in Ajijic at the small center next to where the casino used to be (Juan Alvarez and carretera) for years and had consistent good and reliable results from them. This is just west of Plaza Bugambilias and El Torito. They give a nice discount for INAPAN cards.

It is called ISI Labs and is where we get all our blood work done.
Re: Laboratorio de Patologia Clinica "Chapala"
In our case, my father had some blood sugar analisis done in Laboratorio de Patologia Clinica "Chapala", results were not consistent, had to re do them at El Chopo.

Re: Laboratorio de Patologia Clinica "Chapala"
So, you are happy with the lab results and your treatment by the doctors but who is to say that their tests are following a protocol that will actually give you a true picture of your health? Jim W. is a perfect example! Jim and I were in constant communication far before his actual diagnosis but nothing in Mexico apparently indicated that he might have a problem. In fact, when his US doctor started asking for additional tests, Jim made fun of these procedures because he had been declared "clean" in Mexico. So then the grand surprise came out of left field. What does that tell you?
When I see people quibbling on various forums about the cost of various procedures, I wonder if they are purchasing veggies or quality health care?

Very good points. I chose the Chapala lab because I happen to walk by, and made the decision in the moment. My past has always
beem to seek the best Medical Care. ie, Houston Medical Center
for anything that could possibly be serious. I went to Houston for further tests after being told that the biopsies here did not find anything. Health is my Number One priority, ie diet & excercise.

Where is this lab you're talking about? Is it the one across from Tom's Bazaar?

Re: Laboratorio de Patologia Clinica "Chapala"
As a registered nurse, I highly recommend the ISI lab. After just
arriving in Chapala, my husband tried the other one listed here. I was
concerned with the non-aseptic techniques I viewed- as well as their
methods of storing specimens. We will never return .

the one i use is across from tom's bazaar. their aseptic techniques and storage are just fine.
i went to the one at maskaras clinic once for an eye swab to determine what was causing my chronic conjunctivitus and blepheritis. they swabbed both eyes with the same device-SNORK!
don't even get me started on what the well known doc prescribed then.

Yes, ISI labs is the best. They really do email your results, it's a major chain operation with high standards. And I've never had a test that looked "off". And their prices are great. They are having specials right now on several groups of blood tests.

I really like GO! labs in Riberas. They email results to both the patient and the dr, are priced reasonably, are clean, and offer a range of tests.

Re: Laboratorio de Patologia Clinica "Chapala"
How anyone can say one lab is THE BEST is beyond me too. I know one thing about ISI lab, it's the most expensive!
I needed some follow-up blood analysis done about a year ago and checked with a few labs for prices. I called the ISI lab for a quote - 520 MP. I stopped by the lab across from Tom's Bazaar in Chapala and inquired about the same set of tests - the price was 350 MP. They did a great job, they were impeccably clean and professional and my results were available the same afternoon after 3. They would have sent the results if I wanted but didn't need that done.
I've also used the little lab in SAT and been happy with them too. In Joco, the lab on Jose Santana is excellent.
You can pay more if you want. . .

There are two labs by Maskaras Clinic...one is CARE, street front, and the other is down inside where Mom's restautant used to be, run by a lady named Lulu. That's the one I've used with no complaints.

The lab is on Ramon Corona, a few doors west of where the panadería used to be. It's a small complex with a farmácia and lab run by a local woman doctor. Their hours are early, think you have to be in and out by 10 or so and you can get your results in the late afternoon.
I thought the woman who did my blood draw was very knowledgeable and professional.

Toms Bazaar is in Chapala: going straight through the light it will be on the right about a block before the Legion. The lab is right across the street.
The panadería was on the corner of Ramon Corona and Priv Ramon Corona. The lab is a few doors west of that intersection. Can't miss it, signs and all.
