This is facinating!
Just put your mouse on a city anywhere in the world and the newspaper
headlines pop up...
Double click and the page gets larger....you can read the entire paper
on some if you click on the right place. You can spend forever here.
http://www.newseum.org/todaysfrontpages/flash/
Also, if you look at the European papers, the far left side of Germany will
pop up as The Stars & Stripes (European edition, of course). AND, this site
changes every day with the publication of new editions of the paper.
Hope you enjoy this.

It is a nice idea but the main papers of many countries are missing. I went to France and there is one paper I have never heard of. Then went to Burkina Fasso to see what was going on there no paper, same for Ivory coast same deal in Asia. Not too good in the execution.

Other than that the majority of the newspapers are visible, so more or less is a pretty fascinating site, wouldn't you say?

Bob, here is a site that I have used for several years. http://newslink.org/ It works great for US newspapers, it is easier if you know the name of the paper, where it is located, and if it is a daily or a weekly paper. I don't know how well it may work for papers in other countries.
I often read my old hometown newspaper, The Napa Register, and The Chico Enterprise, a couple of papers in Alaska and Washington state, etc. Occasionally, I read the San Francisco papers too. It may be worth checking it out for foreign papers, I don't know., there is a listing for them. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Links to many Mexican newspapers here: http://www.abyznewslinks.com/mexic.htm
Re: This is facinating!
Bob did not post , I did.
He reads a lot of his favorite papers on line and I read the European papers and some others I want to read on line. None of the papers I read are on this site. None of the French major papers are on the site and it is true for many other countries that are not English speaking. You are better off going to the site of the papers directly.
I agree the idea is a great idea but the execution is pretty bad if you are not US oriented . I hope the site improves because it is a neat idea.
Thanks for the other links I will try them out.

I know the names of newspapers in certain cities, and although the first site posted doesn't have all the major papers, I find it interesting to see what is going on in different parts of the world - and the idea is you just click on that part of the world. If only I knew more languages - I can only read the English, Spanish and French unless I use Google Chrome translator and then it's not always easy to understand. The two main Guadalajara newspapers are on the site.

Thanks Rolly,
Found a really good English paper about what is going on in Mexico: http://www.insidemex.com/
Even an explanation of the difference between FM2 and FM3.

Re: This is facinating!
Since you can read French go to the French site. Only one local paper is listed. What happened to Le Monde, L Express, Le Nouvel Observateur, Le Canard Enchaine, L Humanite etc...?
Saying it is good is pretty much like showing a Santa Rosa California paper and missing the New York Times, LA Times, Washington Post and so on... it is a bad joke. There are many papers in Africa in French or English some in Italian and German, only 4 countries in Africa have papers? Another joke.
I am not even mentioning the important papers in the local languages which I cannot read.

I did, and still found it interesting, it's not perfect but if you use Google Chrome it will translate the paper - pretty badly but readable.

Of course we won´t use a useless site. We just did not want others, who are clearly uninformed, to present this amateurish effort as one worth exploration. Now, I The Dawg, have no problem with this site as I expore The Birmingham News, The Mobile Register, The San Francisco Chronicle , The L.A. Times, The Washington Post and other newspapers published in U.S. towns in which I used to live. But if I want to read newspapers from such places I have visited and lived for a time in Africa, India or Europe, I am sh*t out of luck. Fortunately, I know how to access these newspapers without the help of cheesy consolidators. My darlin´ wife, as a long-time resident of Paris may have taken exception to the notion that newspapers in that modest regional burg were well represented on the aforementioned site.

Welcome to the board Labuenavida!
Please don't take it seriously, some folks are contentious by nature and look to take exception with anyone or anything. It's on them, not you.

I love Mexico! I've been here 15 years.
I have to admit I don't have a lot of experience on these webboards.
But my skin is getting thicker now. Thanks to the good folks for setting me straight on the bad seeds. Best A
