Flight to GDL (Guadalarjara) Empty Flight to GDL (Guadalarjara)

Post by TomQC Sat Aug 09, 2014 9:25 pm

I will be flying from Ottawa, Ontario to Guadalajara next January.  There are two stop overs on the trip.  I was wondering if any of you
have had a bad experience (delays) with their layover at one of these airports:  Washington, Philadelphia, Detroit or Chicago?

Thanks.

I'm always happy with Detroit and Chicago BUT Chicago and Detroit are both likely to have bad weather in January. No one travels through Detroit anymore so it is always very low stress.

Take the Mexican attitude and don't worry about it. If you miss your connection due to bad weather the airline will get you on the next flight.

You might be better off to fly to TO, and then the US stopovers would be Dallas (American), Atlanta (Delta) and Houston (United).
Currently, Delta tops our list because of the flight times, but American is preferred because Dallas is not a very busy airport (unlike Atlanta).
We have tried a number of different routes, including TO to Mexico City then on to Guad.
PM if you want more info.  Beer

American Airports SUCK!!

Check direct flights to Matzalan, PV, Manzanilo, or Cancun and take a connector to Guad

Flight to GDL (Guadalarjara) Empty Flying from Ottawa to Guadalajara

Post by suegarn Tue Aug 12, 2014 6:09 pm

I found that the best flight schedule and pricing was flying with Porter Airlines from Ottawa to Chicago Midway Airport, then flying with Volaris Airlines from there to Guadalajara! (Chicago Midway is a smaller airport, so less hassle). Check out the prices and schedules at www.flyporter.com and www.volaris.com/en/. Hope this helps!
