The trouble was than when we were mere puppies, we were given a load of b.s. about love and marriage; the role of women and men and la de la de da. It's no wonder there were so many divorces, since most people were so incredibly clueless.
As they say: Too soon we get old......too late smart. (With or without thick European accent.)

Worse yet: everybody gets old but some people never get smart.
