Seeking a good doctor for pain management

Is there a good doctor in the area or Guadalajara for pain management. I need to get a prescription for methadone for pain, it is the only opiod that does not cause liver damage with long term use. It is hard to get down here and I need to find a doctor who specializes in pain or an internal medicine specialist who is bi- lingual. I have a doctor in Cuernavaca, but it too far to go for the meds, and they need a special license to prescribe it.

Any suggestions?

i had some major dental surgery and wanted some percodan just in case there would be major pain. there is no doctor here that can rx you even that. it is my understanding that only a hospital pharmacy can dispense it so guadalajara is your best bet after you talk to a local physician who can put you onto a doc with a license to write the rx. dr. lastra is the only one around here that i know of,that specifically touts himself as a pain management physician.

I've heard the same thing: that Dr. Lastra is the go-to doctor for pain meds.
I think they need a special license to prescribe certain serious drugs.

yes they do but he may not have it for the really heavy duty drugs but i'm sure he will know who does.

I believe Dr. Lastra has an anesthesiologist consultant who comes from Guad to see patients at his office. Leon has no special knowledge of pain nor a license to prescribe.

Any contact details on Dr Lastra? Does he have an office in the Lake Chapala area? If so, where?
