the chapala mercado is even open at xmas, but be aware that the vendors start packing it in around 2:30 and definitely done by 3:00.

It was a delight to live just a couple of blocks from the Chapala Mercado Publico, and to also have a bakery and several other tiendas and abarrotes nearby. We sure do miss that!
