FYI for those who

fly with pets on airplanes, have heard Mexico has reinstituted the "no animals inside" law, all pets must go in the hold. Once in the US, the animals are allowed in the passenger compartment. Best to check with your airline, many already have their tickets.

OK, since I posted the above I have tried to verify it. I cannot find anything which states pets are no longer allowed in the cabin. If you are flying out I would suggest you double check before you go to the airport. Sorry about this.

All I could find were stories from 2012. As I recall from posts here and/or TOB, that was briefly the case but soon the edict was rescinded.

Yes, the Mexican authorities were swamped with calls from angry customers when they briefly banned pets from the cabins in 2012. I would be surprised if they tried it again.
