Drivers License

Hello all;
We heard a rumour the licensing office in Chapala is no longer issuing drivers' licenses and we have to go into Guadalajara.
If so, could someone please advise the office address?

I have no idea if Chapala is back up and running or not. Rumor has been that it will open again shortly but that rumor is 4 months old and counting.

I used a driver, Juan Gutierrer (045-333-130-5604) to take me somewhere in Talakapaci (SP?). We were in and out in 20 minutes top. If you have an INAPAM card the cost is about 230MZN. Otherwise, 460MXN.

They will collect the money right there also.

My office is taking people into Guadalajara for license renewals. We are also going to do new licenses.

I went into Guadalajara with Luzma Grande who offers a very affordable concierge service. I walked into the testing station at 9:30 am, did the computer test, and then the practical driving test and walked out license in hand at 11:30 am. She has an office on the carretera in Ajijjic and can be reached at 045-33-3452-1670. The whole procedure was thanks to her, painless and quick.
