Frustrated
No matter what type of container I use for my garbage and recyclables, they are stolen. It has cost me quite a bit of money, they stole garbage cans, junky and dirty looking plastic cans as well as nice clean ones, doesn't matter. This AM I put out a white container, (formerly held kitty litter), which I use for recyclables, within one half hour it was gone. At least they took the plastic and cans also. I will have to just use plastic bags I guess, but still need something to put under the sink and store the things until pick up day.

Re: Frustrated
We use containers under the sink and line them with plastic bags.

Re: Frustrated
I line my container under the sink with a big plastic bag and then put the garbage out in the sack, without the container. If you put out a plastic sack within an hour of when the garbage men come, I'd think the dogs would not have time to get to your garbage.

Re: Frustrated
I have a convenient tree in the street right outside my front door. I hang the plastic bag on an equally convenient broken branch to keep it off the ground, eliminating the animal/rodent problem. I can even put it out at night!!! Works perfectly for me as the trash truck rolls past my house at godawful early.

A bit off subject, I saw a real garbage truck, compactor type, going down the road this morning. Looked brand new. Civilization is coming to MX

Correction. I live in Hooterville. Pedro lives on the highway to the municipal seat. Hence the high-rent trash truck evident on Sundays.

Re: Frustrated
You could have one of those wrought iron raised containers built and cemented in. High enough to keep dogs out, and just put out the trash and recyclables in a bag.

Couple of us on our street just put big nails high up in the nearest utility pole. Unless it's a very tall varmint, nothing goes amok overnight.
