Options after 4 yr. Temp Permit expires

After living in MX for 4 yrs. is it possible to leave, then return as a 6 month tourist every year, with a U.S. Plated car?

Yes, you can give up your temp or perm visa and return as a tourist with your car.

Thank you. Makes sense but I kept reading that after 4 yes. you have leave or apply for Perm. I just want to cover all my options.

I believe you can also give up your temp visa, return to the us and reapply for another temp visa effectively giving you another 4 years. Of course no one knows for how much longer Mexico is going allow even temp visa holders to keep their foreign plated vehicles.

I guess it's best to have a few backup plans at all times.
