Is that to be considered listenable music?
We are hearing what I think is supposed to be entertainment from maybe ElBarCo. However, having said that....I sincerely hope the owners/management are not paying a great deal for this racket!
Is there anything that can be done to get them to turn it down or take it I need? Ideas??? Regulations? TIA

That's pathetic! They should be embarrassed.

Welcome to Mexico. Unfortunately the reality is that although Jalisco has a noise limit law, it is rarely enforced. It is up to you to do due diligence about what establishments are nearby when you rent or buy.

Also bear in mind that a quiet little family restaurant can morph into a noise monster in an otherwise nice neighborhood, as in La Bodega.

Music isn't music unless you can hum or whistle it.

Tell that to Dave Brubeck or Chopin.

Nope, doesn't fit my standard, but Strauss or some good dixieland fits.

Try dancing to Brubecks "Take Five" if you want a good laugh. That will get people to go home. (hint: its in the time its in)

Get over it, remember the 50's and 60's?
There must be people in those bars buying drinks, listening, and liking that music. If the music was that terrible nobody would be in the bar.
I am sure any of those bar owners would promote a cello concert if the their place filled up and they were selling lots of drinks.

This post is way too logical to be appreciated by those who don't know that music, like food, has no accountability for people's likes and tastes.Playaboy wrote:There must be people in those bars buying drinks, listening, and liking that music. Mozart and Chopin at El Barco?......I doubt it.

How about Bartok at El Barco?
Those who actually remember the 60's are probably great supporters of the hearing aid industry today.

I have never heard anything that bad at El Barco. I have heard some wailings from some opera singer coming from the LCS though. Even my dogs were howling. I like classic hard rock like AC/DC, Metallica, Motley Crue, etc. which I imagine many around here wouldnt appreciate......jaja.

Ah, but the very best operatic sopranos can hit a high range of notes that make a dog's ears really hurt, so no wonder they howl.
I'm so old now that my faves were the Grateful Dead, the Eagles and Alabama. (Plus Mozart and the gang.)

I forgot Emerson, Lake and Palmer. They were fine musicians.
That era produced some greats.

Use to follow the Dead. Now I listen to the fat lady sing with Wagner Opera or something equally pompous.
Ain't life funny?

Whatever works. I listen to classical, old time rock, reggae and anything else that's well done. Note that caveat.
That doesn't include the stuff being foisted on the neighbors locally.
