Ancia
Shout out to Ancia. Since I was last there they have simplified the menu and for the 4 of us dining, everything was perfect. Nice music playing, excellent service. They are opening up the mirador very soon. 2 for 1 magaritas and wine!! What more could you ask for?

So, if I just drive west of Ajijic I will eventually find it?

Yes, go west. Lake side. Has an outdoor seating area and often, a visible barbeque going.
We used to go there because they had a good hamburger with a fix-your-own additions cart. Liked that.
They had a bad patch for a while, but seem to be getting more customers lately. We're planning to give it another shot soon, though it's a temptation to keep going for Arileo's delicious (and reasonable) lunch menu.

Re: Ancia
So somewhere between where Ajijic Centro ends and Arileo's on the lake side?
Oh, yeah, but do they have sweet potato fries? That is what brings me back to Arileo's which is a long drive from Chapala for me.

Nothing beats sweet potato fries! Not only that, they're actually GOOD for you. We just think of it as a nice drive in the country, with a very convenient (and honest) gas station on the way (the first one). However: DAMN THE TOPES.

El Ancla is just west of the entrance to the development called "La Reserva". That development has a big entrance on the lakeside of the carretera with wide birth, a large water feature and sign.

Re: Ancia
Thank you, Rosa. That is very helpful.
Now if I can stop my car from continuing west for those sweet potato fries at Arileo's I will know better where to begin wrestling with the steering wheel to make the left turn.

Went there twice. Did not enjoy it the first time, then someone said it had changed.
They did not say that it had gotten worse.

Yes, palapa. My fingers get mixed up sometimes. Glad it's not my brain!
