What places do you recommend for our first Christmas lakeside?

4 (Christmas Eve), and Manix (Christmas Day).  See the ads in the Guadalajara Reporter.

Mannix is a perfect choice for a first Christmas here.
Whatever you choose, joyous holiday to you!

Salvadore's was fantastic for Thanksgiving and they are serving the same for Christmas. At 200 pesos, one drink included, its hard to beat in my book, and its an "all you can eat buffet but dished out by the staff", so voracious eaters take notice. I agree that Mannix would be a good choice too.

Thanks all for the suggestions and please keep them coming! Unfortunately I can't find that issue of the Guadalajara Reporter anywhere and can't view it online.

The usually have it in the lobby at Tango.

If you want festive, I'd go with Nuevo Posada. They put on a fine dinner in a beautiful setting next to the lake. Plenty of parking in the lot across the street.

Be sure to get reservations ASAP!

I second the Nuevo Posada for a "first class" Christmas dinner in a fantastic setting.

Nueva Posada usually sells out by about a week before Christmas but is worth checking on.

If you strike out there, Arileo's is open, (I think). Big place. Excellent food.
