Looking to have a CT Scan done preferably Lakeside or Guadalajara. I'd appreciate any info regarding price (it's a spinal), locations, experiences. TIA.

Re: CT Scan
There is definitely a facility of some sort. It is either CT or Ultrasound. I was quite sure it was CT as my wife was sent there after she fell and screwed up her shoulder. Would they do an ultrasound for a screwed up shoulder?
Let's ask ChapalaMed. He knows.

Re: CT Scan
No CT here. Chapala has some slightly advanced imaging, ultrasound, but no CT. Unidem???
If you need a CT, go to Guad and get the best imaging machine and the very best over-the-top good radiologist/CT tech to read it because your doc will likely treat you based on that person's findings and report - based on the image. If the image is crap, so will be your diagnosis and or treatment based on it.
I'd get it done at one of the good hospitals, not all have CT and I don't know which do and don't. Maybe google does. I know the good expensive ones do. Suerte.
And try to avoid a doc who will funnel you over to their connections in Guad - who may OR MAY NOT be the best, but just have a business deal or are a relative/friend. Tolsa might be a good place. Or, does Salud Digna have a CT? Rio probably does.

Re: CT Scan
I have had several scans done at Tolsa with no problems. Banuelos may also do scans but not sure, they are an excellent facility.

Re: CT Scan
Tolsa is superb, many Docs send patients there. They have/do every kind of diagnostic imaging, blood work, and radiation. There equipment is up to date, many staff are bilingual.

Re: CT Scan
I had a CAT scan done at Tolsa 2 weeks ago - my "5 years out from having lung cancer" and it came back clean. Yippee! This was the 3rd CAT scan I have had at Tolsa and it has been a very good experience. CAT / CT scans are called "TAC" in Spanish; and it was hard to find TAC or CAT listed on their web site, go figure, as they have a dedicated room and personnel for their CAT scans.
A thoracic CAT scan is priced at 2900 pesos, with a 10% discount for INAPAM card holders. You do not need an appointment - just enter the lobby, walk up to the "caja" (the place where you pay) and tell them what you're looking for. They will send you to the far end of the seats in that corridor -- opposite the restrooms - and fairly soon someone will come out to take you into the CAT scan area. Your friends/family can come with you. They will take you to a little dressing room - leave your clothes there, put on the paper gown, and walk out. The scanner is right around the corner.
When done - pay at the caja, your results will be sent to your doctor, AND you'll need to wait about an hour and then return to Tolsa to pick up a big envelope with the hard copy of your scans, a CD of them, and a diagnostic report. Remember, in Mexico you are personally responsible for schlepping around your x-rays, scans etc.
