JI just drove 1600km nogales to gdl. The worst part of hwy was gdl chapala.

Worst in what way? Baches? Traffic?

You should have seen it before they filled the potholes after the big rains. We should get them all fixed about the time rain starts again. Nobody moves to Mexico for the roads.

Really?  I haven't done that drive in 3 months.  Sonora has some pretty crappy roads, especially around Vicam and Guaymas.  Those have been some of the worst roads in all of MX.  IMHO a little  crappier (but not much more) than the GDL-Lakeside area.

Have they finished all the paving on 15 in Sonora?

After 1550 km., the last 50 might be exhausting.

A lot of highway work in Sonora. New Mazatlan bypass is great. Congestion coming into Guad. Very few places to eat on toll hwy.
But the gdl to chapala was worst. Chapala being one of the top turist atracciones the highway really sucks.

La Carretara a Chapala is infamous for all the accidents that occur on it.

You can't see the painted lines and lane dividers. Pot holes. Weird lane shifts uneven surface

True, lots of wrecks on that highway and often a fatality or two in each one.

And alcohol, excessive speed, and no seatbelts.

I stay away from the pereferico and usually take zapopan to lazaro cardenas..
Too many trucks, convis,etc on pereferico
