Rain should be coming tonight. Workers are coming to replace the huge skylight in my kitchen. They did it once this week already. This time, I'm hoping it will be the right kind of glass. A black plastic film is NOT the same as tinted glass, eh?

....now, if I just go wash the car...............

A sign of the times: We old folks remember being able to buy actual tinted glass; as in stained glass, etc., which was actual glass.
Now, the young folks consider tinted glass to be plain clear glass with a piece of colored plastic applied. It sure is not tinted glass, but they think it is. Real e-glass might be very expensive, if it can be found.
I suppose that putting the plastic between two panes of glass might increase longevity and decrease separation in a skylight.  Finding real tinted glass these days might be very difficult. It is even getting difficult to find real food, leather soled shoes, cars with crank windows (but we did just find one), propeller driven airliners or cruise ships that do not look like floating condominiums ready to roll over.

Stuff has been banned in several jurisdictions ... in an accident this film will prevent auto safety glass from safely fragmenting as it is designed to do.... instead, a massive ball of glass fragments and plastic film could fly thru the passenger compartment...
