Slingbox?

Has anyone tried Slingbox? My understanding is that it hooks up to my PVR here in Toronto, and then also in Ajijic. This enables me to watch my Toronto PVR on my TV in Ajijic. Obviously, it's a snowbird thing, but has anyone tried it?

I do know someone using one. They said it is "OK" however dependent on internet speed which can be dicey at times.

Yes, and that's putting it mildly...

I've been using it for 5 years as my primary source of TV.
The Slingbox is located in Dallas and we get everything recorded on a TIVO (same as DVR)
We had a few technical issues from time-to-time, but got those resolved between son-in-law (slingbox location) and most was related to his upload speed.
Overall, very good system and meets all our needs.
But we also have a Shaw system in the BR, and we also use KODI
