Chapala Curfew?

Some Mexican friends say that police are enforcing a 10:00 PM curfew on males in Chapala, but they had no details. Does anyone know about this?

Haven't heard. The Chapala Muni has a Facebook page. Maybe look at that?

Tried but couldn't find anything (doesn't mean it isn't there, just that I couldn't find it.) Google search doesn't find anything current.

If true, that would mean they are expecting problems.

Just talked to my Mexican BIL who is in a position to know most everything that is going on in Chapala and he says, "no se".

I doubt there is a curfew on males it violates human rights.. When I spoke with the presidente and the police chief several years ago and ask them if they could have a curfew as there were problems on our part of town I was told that curfews are not legal because they violate Human Rights..No that Mexico never violates those but if there is a curfew I do not think they would advertise it as a curfew or admit there is one..

I saw a propane truck last week in town with CJN on the grill. Not sure why there needs to be a curfew.

All I know is that a young man who works on the premises was leaving late (after 10:00 PM) and the police stopped and questioned him. Then knocked on the door to ask us if he really did work here. We said that he did and they said they stopped him because there is a 10:00 PM curfew for males in Chapala. Could be BS, I dunno. That's why I asked.

Well they may have forgotten it was against Derechos Humanos...or the police did not speak with the legal department or they may have say hell with it.. Everything and anything is possible.. I am going to ask some young guys around here to hear what they say..
