I would like to welcome Guardian Insurance as a new forum sponsor. This is the company I recently got my health insurance with. I was so impressed with their service and the policy that I suggested they advertise on here so others can find out about it. I got the VUMI VIP Expat policy. I got my VUMI coverage about a month ago. Process was clean and easy. I luckily have not used it yet, but I am covered.

Which VUMI package did you get?

I got the Bronze package.

Without plowing through the insurance lingo etc, is there an age cut off? Pre-existing?

Are American/New Zealanders eligible?

I believe the VUMI VIP policy has a maximum age of 75 years in which to join. Once you are on it there is no cut-off.

They look at every case to determine pre-existing coverage or not.

VUMI also has a policy for seniors which is for people 60 to 90 years of age.

Sure, why not? If you want the policy to cover you "within the USA" it will be significantly more expensive. I opted for worldwide coverage "except the USA".

Does anyone know how this compares with Best Doctors? I hope it is a strong competitor .... I'd like to be working with a different agent.

Resurrecting an old post to find out if anyone cares to share claims experience or recent service experience with Guardian.  PM if you prefer. TIA.

I have had a claim paid out for prescriptions that exceeded my $250 deductible last year. They have been great responding to questions and following up on things for me. This year my wife turned 65 which was a major increase in our rates for this year but Guardian warned us this would happen at 65. We went from 2600 USD to $3800 USD for the two of us. I increased my deductible to $1000 USD to keep the cost down. At the $250 USD deductible it would have been $4500 USD.
