TELMEX internet speed

Post by Kiri on Sat Mar 09, 2019 11:49 pm

Has anyone noticed a drop in their internet speed the last week or so. I am in San Antonio, near OXXO. I used to get a steady 5 mg down. Now I am getting around 1.3.

I'm in San Antonio and I'm still getting my steady 1.6 mbps just like always.

TR--when it gets hot our water pressure always drops because there's simply not enough water for everyone. All year, my gardener uses the water from the tinaco to water the yard in order to get enough pressure. My internet throttles all the time now and I can hardly watch TV on my tablet.

Yes, you are right about the water.
I think our sluggy internet is due to high use by the kids in the afternoon and into the night. Seems to be when mine slows down.

I wonder if the hospital will affect our internet when it opens. Maybe we'll have other options by then than TelMex.

Surely the hospital will have fiber like the hotel close to Chapala Haciendas.

When 1000's of people switch to Ilox Telmex may get faster with fewer users.

Just so you know, TR, my contract for iLox has the heading TV Rey... fibre, internet, telephone and also TV if you want it. I don't. I heard from a friend of a friend who was installed in Upper Floresta who is delighted. Speed between 50 and 75 mbps download.

Telmex usually works for me. And unlike this morning it is up and running again. I just did a speed test in upper Ajijic and as usual, I get just over 10Mb/sec down by 0.5Mb/sec up.

I guess it all depends on how far you live from your Telmex DSLM card or where your Telmex line connects to the internet which according to their computers is 1070 meters from my home.

Telmex has boosted us to a steady 15 in Chapala Haciendas. I'm grateful.

In Riberas I get around 10. Right now 9.78 down and 1.05 upload. It does slow down during school vacations.

I'm also in Riberas (lower) and get 20 down and 4.5 up. It's all about location. Mike the Computer Guy get 40 down and ? up. He lives close to Mom's.
