"HONDURAS NOTICE THURSDAY MAY 30TH. The whole country is shutting down today and probably into tomorrow. Widespread road blockages. The government is considering privatizing medical and education sectors. There are massive demonstrations, the airports are taken, and there have been some outbreaks of riots."

yep mine too...Actually the ruins are really worth the trip, they are very close to the border and the yown there at the yuins s way nicer that the closest town in Guatemala..I have not been to Roatan but I heard that was nice too , at one time.

I'm going to do Vietnam instead next February.

I am going next year as well but in September or October to meet my cousins who live in Asia 6 months of the year so they can show me the good restaurants..

So many tropical countries, as well as European countries, have been offended, that US tourists are now flocking to places like Iceland. Even the summit of Everest is dangerously overcrowded. Sell your shares in swimsuit companies, and start raising foxes. Their fur is the best for arctic wear.

No thanks RV, I ll stick to tropical places...By the way I do not think the European countries give a hoot where American tourists go . Their government may but the people could not care less. Paris is just as crowded wth tourist, the languages changes but the tourists remain.

Me too! UPS-Air just delivered a tiny, really tiny, bottle of special eye drops from a VA pharmacy somewhere else. They arrived in a large styrofoam container, with ice packs! It is hot and humid outside!
