Great escape from "Evento"

The usual Sunday evening favorite was having an "evento", so we headed for el Ancla, a favorite lunch place. We were the only customers around 6 p.m. We ordered martinis and they are the best we've had. This was followed by a mushroom chicken with veggies and taters for my spouse. The portion was generous enough for another take-home meal. I had the chicken and shrimp kebab; again enough for take-home. Both dishes were outstanding. The prices are reasonable and the staff attentive and pleasant. If you haven't tried el Ancla, you're missing some great, delicious "scratch" cooking! Other "best around" dishes: salmon and the chicken cordon bleu.

Location: West Ajijic on the lake side of the Carretera, just past the gas station going west. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I think they're open every day (?)
