We sat out on our terrazza and watched a non-stop lightning show like I can't remember seeing the likes of before this!  Awesome!!  Rain and thunder too....happily, the sitting area is well roofed.
cheers

Which radar site(s) do you like? I've been using this one lately, it shows about a 2 hour history which can be helpful.
https://www.accuweather.com/es/mx/guadalajara/243735/satellite/243735

A lot of US radar sites show future conditions, sometimes up to 4 hours. Only as good as the forecaster, but some in FL were quite accurate.

Any radar sites in Mexico with this feature?

Yep, I read the same. Almost an inch. The late start is certainly making up for it.

In Rancho Alegre just before Jocotepec, they didn't get a drop last night. Micro climates all around the lake.

We only had .37 overnight. Think it was light to moderate as heavy rains wake me when it hits bedroom skylights and I didn't stir. Or maybe it was that 3rd glass of wine 🍷🍷🍷

I don't drink but I DO wear earplugs... specifically because of rain on a skylight... or local music... or cohetes... or car alarms... or dogs barking. Never hear a thing.

Hey, I wake up to my dogs barking their heads off while they bounce up and down on the bed. Although I truly don't know if it's the barking or the vibrating and bouncing bed that wakes me. That happened when kids with firecrackers set the empty lot next door on fire. The neighbours pounding on my garage door got the dogs going and that woke me up.

After the first few seasonal torrential nighttime rains my brain seems to adjust to them and they don't wake me up.

What's happened to a third of an inch, 1 1/2 inches, 3 1/3 centimetres?

Does everyone now have digital rain gauges?

Digital is the way to go.  Most are wireless and self emptying.  No need to go outside (and get wet); no forgetting to empty between rainfalls.  Most can be set for multiple events, track "last night" versus "today", keeps data for weekly and running total rain amounts (for weeks, months, forever even).

Not expensive.

Actually I got one from Amazon a few days ago based on your recommendation. Thanks. The features are great.

Go to your Ajijic weather page at
https://www.ajijicweather.com/

It only rained one inch there. No, I don't know where the weather station is (I presume) in Ajijic
