Happy US Thanksgiving

Another American myth. The Native Americans did share food with the pilgrims but there was no special day for this. Abraham Lincoln pushed the idea to help heal the nation after the civil war. Later the business community latched onto the idea as another way of making money. Having said this, I still enjoy the holiday. First Thanksgivings were on a Friday until politicians got involved and set it on a Thursday.

Who cares? Let's enjoy it for what it means to us now. You can tear down every other holiday and famous figure in history. Why bother? The only one that stands up is May Day: "Hooray, hooray, it's the first of May. Outdoor screwing starts today!"

And now the frost is on the pumpkin, it's back to indoor dinky dunkin'.
