So, one of these days I'm going to revolt against our Canadian cold and want to return to Ajijic. I'm wondering if anyone has opinions, preferably based on experience about where it is safer to change planes. Mexico City or Houston. There are no direct flights from Toronto.

Mike, check and see if WestJet is flying direct from Toronto to PV then get the short flight from PV to Guadalajara. At least the PV airport usually has all its doors wide open at this time of the year.

I would fly via MEX. Avoid the US at all costs......

Aeromexico flies from Montreal (YUL) to Guad. (GDL) with a plane switch in Mexico City (MEX).

I think you're going to find all flights packed because so many routes have been cut. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't.
Avoiding the U.S. is the goal.
