Just read an enthusiastic review of this book in the Washington Post. Here is a review in good reads. If you were raised Dublin, and are now in your 70's, I think you would enjoy it very much.

I just bought it for my Kindle; not for the scene in which the novel is set so much as because I love Gabriel Byrne.

"Miller´s Crossing" is his best film out of many great one´s, and a great story and cast.
