Sometimes the WalMart "beauty" section, little packets. Usually the gift shoppe Regalos Luz off the plaza in Ajijic.

I have a number of packages of various sizes and I"m happy to share. pm me. I'm finding it very hard to do hand sewing now even with the big guides to get the needle threaded... can't even get the guide in the little hole in the needle. Sigh. On the bright side, I have discovered special glue for hemming pants. Salva mi vida!

There used to be a sewing-supply shop on Constitution in Ajijic, on the south side of the street and just a few doors east of Colon. They also sell guitar strings for some reason. Haven't been there since I last needed guitar strings about a year ago but I assume it's still there. In Spanish, needles are called abujos and sewing thread is caled hilo.

Add: I checked the Word Reference dictionary and discovered that the Spanish word for sewing needle is aguja.
