Well are you going to take this vaccine? I don't know as I can find zero, nada, nothing on this vaccine. I may skip it and wait til something better comes along for money. Not trying to panic but are we being experimented on?

I'll take it. If a better one comes along at the private level I'll take one of those too.

What about handicap people who cannot stand in long lines or drag along a chair?

Yep, I will be there too. Dr. Fauci says....take what you can get.
So far they have only announced for Jocotepec Municipio, nothing yet for Chapala. They will be giving the shots at the government clinics in Ajijic and SAT.

Just tell everybody how dangerous it is and get the lines shortened up.....
There are enough skeptics, even on this board, that it will make a big difference. If they are undecided, keep reminding them about the Uighurs.

Apparently they are setup on the Ajijic and Chapala malecons today.

From reports today, the Ajijic malecon is mobbed and parking is virtually non-existent nearby.

From the Chapala Health Talk Facebook Group:
VACCINATIONS IN MUNICIPALITY OF CHAPALA including Santa Cruz de Soledad, San Nicolas de Ibarra, Vista del Lago, Riberas del Pilar, San Antonio Tlayacapán, Ajijic.
IF YOU LIVE IN AJIJIC, SAN ANTONIO TLAYACAPÁN, RIBERAS DEL PILAR
You must report to the Ajijic vaccine location.
IF YOU LIVE IN CHAPALA, SANTA CRUZ DE SOLEDAD, SAN NICOLAS DE IBARRA, VISTA DEL LAGO
You must report to the Chapala vaccine location.
OFFICIAL NOTICE FROM OUR INTERIM MAYOR:
"NOTICE!
Tomorrow [TUESDAY] will begin the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 in our municipality, it will take place during March 16, 17 and 18, where they will be vaccinating our adults over 60 years old.
The vaccination centers will be open from 8:00 am:
- Chapala, Antigua Presidencia, Av. Madero #226. [MAIN STOPLIGHT IN CHAPALA, PARK AT MALECON.]
- Ajijic Malecon, Del Paseo street. [AT MALECON, LIMITED PARKING. CONSIDER TAXI OR CARPOOL.]
Requirements: Go with registration folio, original and copy of INE [OR OFFICIAL ID, SEE BELOW], CURP and proof of address.
To register in the platform and obtain your folio, click on this link: https://mivacuna.salud.gob.mx/index.php"
VACCINATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Residents of Chapala over 60 who registered online AND have proof of address can receive their vaccine in this round. There will be future rounds.
The same amount of vaccine is allotted each day, so there is NO NEED for everyone to go the first day and first hour. It will only make the expat community look greedy if we do so. Please remember that many elderly working native residents NEED this far more than you do.
YOU CANNOT BE VACCINATED IF:
- You are sick or have a fever
- Not yet recovered from COVID (count 15 days after the LAST symptom)
- Live with any type of immunosuppression
- If you have severe allergies
- If you received a blood transfusion, application of blood products, treatment with plasma or antibodies against COVID-19 in the last 3 months.
DATE: March 16-18
TIME: 8 am-4 pm or until each day's doses are gone
MUST BRING:
- Proof of ID - bring all official ID that you have: Jalisco driver’s license, INAPAM card, residency card, passport. NOTE: we cannot guarantee which will be accepted.
- Proof of address with your name on it - if you don’t have this, bring anything you have. In order of preference: full recent bill from CFE, SIMAPA, Telmex, Telcel (not pay-as-you-go), home purchase or lease, Wizz, Ilox, iFibra, other utility or internet provider. Don’t leave something home if it might help.
- Printout of full-page CURP from https://www.gob.mx/curp/
Don't say it's on your residency card, there can be errors in that. They want the full page version.
- Proof of registration from https://mivacuna.salud.gob.mx/
RECOMMENDED:
- Eat breakfast before leaving home
- Wear comfortable shoes
- Umbrella for sun
- Water and energy snacks
- Any medications you need
- A person can accompany you if you need help

My group of ten expats are going to wait till we can get them privately which will be soon, and have a choice of different vaccines, it is a good thing we did not go, the crowds are large, no social distancing, and no parking, my neighbors turned around and walked back home..

Please give your reference that states that there will be a choice of vaccines at any point. I am also waiting for a time to get vaccinated at a clinic, since standing in a line is not an option for me at present.

I think you will be waiting a very long time for private shots. Probably 2022.

I don't think anyone mentioned "private" shots. I'm sure there will be other clinics for vaccinations. It's chaos in Ajijic. I just got a text from my housekeeper who is 40. She's going to line up for the vaccination today. She's also not pre-registered. Sigh.
Whatever will be will be and it ain't gonna include me.

As of last Thursday, the woman at the desk in the clinic in the building housing the hospital in San Antonio said she "has no idea" when the vaccine shots would be available there. So...we wait.

They are not taking 80 year olds first, they have to wait inline for hours with everyone else, not social distancing

That sounds more dangerous than missing the shots, for now.

Ppsted a few hours ago by Gov. of Jalisco. While this allotment of Pfizer is for Guadalajara, it may be a sign that more Pfizer will be arriving???

The first time they phoned you, most likely in Spanish, they asked do you medically require someone to come to your home, for the vaccine, or can you travel to a central location. Once the pharamacies start selling doses, my guess is October, Drs. could make house calls, at a typical cost of 1,000 pesos. It otherwise might be a long wait for a community nurse visit.

fyi, Someone posted on FB Chapala Covid page that they arrived to Ajijic malecon at 6:10am and was #65 in line. It took SEVEN hours, start to finish.
Someone else posted that they were not charging to use the banos, but you need to bring your own TP.
Holy crap.

My wife was in line at 8am and received her shot at 7pm. I believe they only had two people administering injections. They process about 80 people per hour.

Did anyone in Ajijic receive papers verifying the shot? Any mention of follow-up shot in Ajijic? Chapala did neither.

Re: Gov announces Chapala and Joco are getting Sinovac according to other board
Whoever was responsible for organizing the shot giving should be sent to "reality" school. In the first place, all too many people over 60 suffer from some kind of physical problem that makes being in a line for many hours extra difficult. However, they need vaccinations, so what system was set up? None, essentially. For shame.

In Ajijic you were registered for the second shot right after you received the first. The second will be the same process. Line up and wait......
