We have eaten at 4 of these and one that did not make the list Gosha's Jardin Restaurant. We also like Beer Garden in Chapala.

Have been to all of these restaurants but one. My favorite is Cocinart. Not going to get into argument about some of these but several don't deserve to be in top 10.

How does a restaurant located in San Antonio Tlayacapan get on a list of the best restaurants in Ajijic?

Almost stopped reading at the first misspelling.  It's Teocintle.  

Some on the list have either lost their luster or never had it. I have eaten at all on the list.

TripAdvisor was very useful once upon a time.  No longer.  Most reviews there are posted by people who care more about quantity and price, than quality.  

My advice is to visit as many eateries as you can and figure out what suits YOUR palette.  

My current top three are not on the list.

My current top two didn't make it either!

I agree on Yves, and here are two more of my favorites:

La Ancla, in a small strip mall on the west side, shortly after the gas station. Why? the freshest, cleanest shrimp dishes, some chicken with great sauces and good pastas.  Outstanding shrimp (or chicken) and avocado salad with fine sauces and multiple ingredients.

Gosha's, on the carretera in Ajijic centro.  Why? consistently fresh ingredients, outstanding breakfasts and very pleasant garden setting.  Good barbecue chef at dinner.

I agree with gringal about the dinner time BBQ chef at Gosha's.

We started going to Gosha's when they first opened. My wife & I were retired Polish Folk dancers and we spoke a little Polish to her and we hit it off. Her husband, who is Mexican, cooked all the menu items at that time (2016). Great couple.

Yves was great and we enjoyed all the donkey (I cannot remember her name, but I know the story) pictures.

We also ate at La Ancla as we were staying at a condo on the west side of Ajijic. It was good as well and not too busy at the time we were there. Good seafood.

I did try to get the spelling on the names correct, but I am a poor typist.

Mystery to me: The sign, the menu and the personnel shirts all say "el" Ancla, rather than "la". Can anyone explain?

Generally, if the noun ends in an "A" it is feminine and thus has "la" in front of it.

But I'm sure there are exceptions.

“El" is used before nouns starting with the letter "a" when that noun is pronounced with the stress is on that syllable.

Other examples are
El agua (the water)
El alma (the soul)
El arma (the weapon)

There are exceptions and El Ancla is one of them. El dia and El problema are two others that are commonly mistaken for feminine.
