D. Arturo Ortega (Chapala, Jal). - The National Water Commission (CONAGUA) carries out administrative procedures to demolish buildings in invaded federal areas, on the shores of the largest lake in Mexico, according to the mayor of Chapala, Alejandro de Jesús Aguirre Curiel.
During a press conference, which took place on November 24, the mayor explained: “We already had a meeting with the director of CONAGUA. He was in Chapala, where he carried out an uprising and they are going to start the procedure for some demolitions in federal zones. That was his commitment from the director of CONAGUA, ”and he announced that in the next few days he would meet with him again.

Aguirre acknowledged that CONAGUA is empowered to carry out this type of procedure and the agency even asked the City Council for information regarding the properties that adjoin the lake. "To see those party halls, if they requested the municipal license, what documents they presented or how they demonstrated the property", and added that this will be a requirement for the application of the next municipal licenses, exemplifying: "sometimes there are party halls of 5 thousand meters, when the property has 100 in the deeds ”.
The mayor flew over the lake shore by helicopter to verify the ongoing invasions of the federal zone, on November 1 and in whose message shared through social networks he released some images at the same time, reiterated that he would not allow them to continue federal invasions and that the fate of each cargo truck will be reviewed.
After the Chapala City Council promised to strictly monitor the cargo trucks and heavy machinery that circulate along the shores of the lake, to avoid as much as possible the invasion in the federal zone, in the month of October two trucks have been warned .
Meanwhile, the Directorate of Mobility and Public Security, continue with the instruction to be aware that there are no earth movements through cargo trucks or heavy machinery in the aforementioned federal zones.
The crew of this type of vehicle have to prove the ownership of the vehicle, the destination of the material where it was taken and be warned that in federal areas it is forbidden to dump rubble or carry out landfills.
To finish with the issue of obstructions to the lake that are found along Avenida Hidalgo and whose installation was allowed by the 2018-2021 administration, arguing that it was a security measure for the owners who live on the shores of the lake. , Aguirre Curiel, will consign the respective shares to CONAGUA.

I sure hope that they do not forget Avenida del Pilar and Paseo del Lago. This area has been over run with building on the shores of Lake Chapala. This area is behind Mirasol.
It has definitely been invaded and is in need of government policing! I am sick of all the building being done on Federal land and nothing done about it.

Re: Regarding Chapala shore incursions
They should remove it and add the cost to their land taxes.

Re: Regarding Chapala shore incursions
they should seize the land, tax the owners with back taxes and penalties and seize their adjoining land or bankrupt them!
