Covid test required 24 hours before US departure

It was 3 days before US departure. Now Reporter says new rule started December 6, 24 hours. Not 1 day. So if you had a 3 pm flight Tuesday and got your test at noon Monday it would be more than 24 hours. Now what?

ONE DAY, not 24 hours.  From CDC website,
The 1-day period is 1 day before the flight’s departure. The Order uses a 1-day time frame instead of 24 hours to provide more flexibility to the air passenger and aircraft operator. By using a 1-day window, test acceptability does not depend on the time of the flight or the time of day that the test sample was taken.

For example, if your flight is at 1pm on a Friday, you could board with a negative test that was taken any time on the prior Thursday.

Hope so. Reporter page 2 this week said new test rules December 6. 24 hours of departure. I think I’ll stay home. Hope it’s wrong and 1 day still applies.

Why would you believe a reporter for a English language weekly paper in central Mexico over the CDC, which is the agency that sets the rule??!?!?!

Check the CDC website or your airline. They will confirm the rule is one day, not 24 hours.
