The extent of the devastation is still being measured, and the death toll will climb.
I spoke with my son and daughter-in-law today. They live there and are experiencing things first hand.
She works at the Maui Humane Society. So often, the pets get overlooked.
If you can spare some cash, they need all the help they can get.
If I were still living lakeside, I would organise a swarm.
The local people have fostered all of the animals that were in the shelter to make room for those orphaned by the fires.
