Power outage

Our power has been out since 11:00pm last night in Ajijic Centro. Who else?

I’m just down 16 de Septiembre from you. I took a look from the mirador last night, all of Centro was out. I could see lights to the East, West & North (above the Carretera?).

Out here, I am 4 or 5 blocks west of Bob on Independencia.

It sounds like a transformer blew as someone said they heard a loud explosion. I guess the CFE isn't working the nightshift......

CFE never works at night. CFE doesn't work in the rain. CFE rarely works on the weekends. Service 24/7 is not in their vocabulary and, if they have to wait for a transformer replacement from Guadalajara, you're just SOL. I am grateful to be living in Riberas del Pilar where the entire electrical system was upgraded in the summer of 2018. :) Mind you, that was NOT fun either.

It sure has been nice since that transformer was replaced in Riberas. Hope that if they replace the transformer in Ajijic that your electric service is as good as ours has been.

It wasn't just one transformer, it was all the lines and a whole lot of new taller, concrete posts were put in. Whenever, I want to remember how many days of misery happened, I just look up the records of Enphase reports that show black boxes for all the days that my solar panels were unable to send electricity back into the grid. ComputerGuy did an awesome job posting which blocks would be affected on which days. He received them from CFE so, of course, it was more of a guesstimate than anything else. I was so grateful for my Jackery and my two Geek Aire Fans and a cell phone with a hotspot.

It's back on now.
